ABOUT A RESEARCH CHEMICAL

February 18, 2012 | Author: | Posted in Customer Service

World is progressing very fast. From research to development, everything is done very accurately and intensely analytically. Talking of research and development in the field of medicines, it is an exceptionally sensitive and delicate issue. The research chemicals are first tested and their purity is determined. After the confirmation on their purity, they are tested on different test individuals to check their biological and pharmacologic action.

Different chemicals show different activity on different test animal. Therefore, in order to further process the chemical, it is first necessary to look for the extent to which the chemical shows its effect. After doing the proper study, the chemical is taken for further verification and side effects of the chemical are generally noted. After the estimation in the severity of the actions and side effect of the chemical, it is then taken for further studies and development of drug.

After making considerable changes in the chemical structure of the research chemical, a drug is actually formulated, which after carrying out further studies is transformed in to a dosage form and lastly, after years and years of research, a chemical is given the proper execution of a drug. A number of drugs are formulated in this way. This procedure is quite a bit less simple as it looks. So much studies and a long time of experimentation are involved behind this whole process.

For instance, a psychomimetic or psychostimulant drug, ethylphenidate is formulated this way. This drug is really effective stimulant of central nervous system. Owing on the psychostimulant activity of this drug, this chemical is used in wide psychotic disorders, such as, depression together with ADHD, the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The drug acts as a result of blocking the reuptake of an important neurotransmitter, the Dopamine, presynaptically.

Dopamine can be an excitatory neurotransmitter, which means, it excites the fundamental nervous system, thereby, increasing the activity of the system. The increased concentration about this neurotransmitter increases its concentration inside other terminal of this nerve. Some other chemicals also show effectiveness with regard to various psychiatric diseases, such as, methylphenidate, another research chemical from the same class.

The studies that are carried out on the drugs of central nervous system is performed very adequately as this system is probably the most delicate system of our entire body. Ethylphenidate is most effective in some other psychotic disorders as well, such as, the social anxiety disorder, or the obsessive uncontrollable disorder, in which, the patient repeatedly does the same tasks often.

Therefore, the chemicals which get excited about the mental disorders must be taken with great care and the physicians must prescribe a reasonable dose to the patient as the side effects are also severe. Also, the patient must also take these medicines using the instructions of the doctor.
